VPN instructions for Ubuntu

This guide explains how to manually set up a OpenVPN connection

Step 1

You will need to install the package
apt-get install openvpn

Step 2

Get the .ovpn configuration file from our site and put it into OpenVPN direcrory /etc/openvpn.

Step 3

Start the OpenVPN client using the .ovpn profile you need, for example
openvpn --config /etc/openvpn/vpn99-nl-tcp-80.ovpn

Now you are connected to VPN99.

This guide explains how to manually set up a PPTP VPN connection on Ubuntu Linux 16.04 LTS and start using the VPN99 service.

Step 1

Click the Network Manager icon.

Step 2

Select Vpn Connections -> Configure VPN.

Click Add.

Choose the PPTP connection type.

Click Create.

Step 6

In the Gateway field type in X.vpn99.net, then enter your Username and Password. Also choose Store the password for all users.

Click Save

Almost done, click Close.

Click the Network Manager icon, select VPN Connections and choose VPN99.

VPN99 is now connected! Enjoy it!

To disconnect, just click the Network Manager icon,
select VPN Connections -> Disconnect VPN.
