VPN instructions for Google Chrome

For your convenience we have created a free Chrome extension that allows you to quickly and easily connect to a VPN server and change the country.


Installation

Confirm the installation by clicking 'Add Extension'.


When the extension has been installed the VPN99 icon appears on the Google Chrome toolbar.

Click the extension icon then a button "Start" and enter your login details obtained during registration. We recommend to proceed registration and payment in advance.


Then select the country of connection by clicking the corresponding flag. Click "Connect", and your Chrome browser is connected via VPN!

Step 3

Open the configuration file from your mail by clicking on "Open using OpenVPN" link


Step 4

Click ADD, indicate your login and password form the registration mail. Check Save password to avoid typing it every time you need to connect and click ADD.

Allow system to save configuration of VPN.

Approve

Step 7

Activate the VPN-connection by moving the slider to the right.

Now you are using VPN!

If you don't want to use OpenVPN Connect for some reason, you may still use VPN connection on your iOS device setting it up using built in L2TP-client as instructed below.

L2TP client tutorial

This guide explains how to manually set up a L2TP VPN connection on an iOS device and start using the VPN99 service.


Step 1

Go to Settings.


Step 2

Scroll down...
...and choose General.



Step 3

Choose VPN.


Step 4

Click VPN, then click Add VPN Configuration.


Step 5

In Type field...


Step 6

... choose L2TP


Step 7

Then type in your login, password and nl.vpn99.net as Server for connecting to
Netherlands and us.vpn99.net for USA or ru.vpn99.net for Russia.
(Secret/Shared Key - 12345678 , You will receive Login and Password after Sign UP)
Then click Done.


Step 8

Back to General (top-left corner).


Step 9

Back to Settings (top-left corner).



Step 10

Scroll up and switch VPN on.




Step 11

Enjoy!

VPN instructions for Windows

We have two different tutorials for Windows:

OPENVPN CONFIGURATION MANUAL VPN99 CONNECTION

Step 1


Open OpenVPN web site and download the most recent build of the app.


Step 2

Launch the installer, leave all the default presets, and click Install.


Step 3

Upon installation, check the box “Start OpenVPN GUI”

 


Step 4

Now you should download keys for the selected country of connection (the USA or the Netherlands) from - https://vpn99.net/en/our_servers


Step 5

Unzip the archive and move the contents to C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenVPN\config 


Step 6

Click on the OpenVPN icon in the tray and connect (by selecting one of the configurations – TCP or UDP) 


Step 7

Enter login/password and wait until the connection process is completed. (Login and Password are mailed to you upon the REGISTRATION


Step 8

After a successful connection the OpenVPN icon in the tray will turn green. OpenVPN-client is now connected to VPN99. Enjoy it!

*Also at /myip url you can check how the client functions, your IP address should change. 

There could be some issues when operating OpenVPN on Windows if it lacks permissions. In that case we suggest you to run OpenVPN client As Administrator:



 

This guide explains how to manually set up a PPTP VPN connection on Windows 10 and start using the VPN99 service.

   
 

You can set up VPN connection manually:

Step 1

Right-click the monitor icon in the bottom-right corner.

Press Open Network and Sharing Center.

We're almost there, click VPN99 and press Connect.

You will need to install the package
apt-get install openvpn

Step 2

Get the .ovpn configuration file from our site and put it into OpenVPN directory /etc/openvpn.

Step 3

Start the OpenVPN client using the .ovpn profile you need, for example
openvpn --config/etc/openvpn/vpn99-nl-tcp-80.ovpn

Now you are connected to VPN99.

This guide explains how to manually set up a PPTP VPN connection on Ubuntu Linux 16.04 LTS and start using the VPN99 service.

Click the Network Manager icon.

Setting up L2TP connections under Windows 10 Mobile

In the list of installed applications, click Settings.

Fill in the fields as shown. In the Server Name field, specify one of the following values in accordance with the preferred country of connection:

In the VPN Type menu, select L2TP / IPSec with a preshared key.

Fill in the fields as shown. From the Login Data Type menu, select Username and Password. Please note that Account and Password are the same Login and Password with which you registered on vpn99.net.

When finished, click Save.

Open this link to get OpenVPN for Android, it's FREE.

Now you have to download configuration files from this page. You may choose one or download all of them and then use it.

Run OpenVPN and press OVPN Profile.

Pick the .ovpn file you've got on Step 2 and press Import.

Change the name if needed and then indicate your VPN99 credentials you've got upon registration. Press ADD.

Your OpenVPN profile was configured. Now all you need is to activate it when needed:
